Black Friday Shopping Pic

So I finally got around to those pictures that I promised

This is the backpack I bought at Macy for about $20. Originally it was $32. I purchased the charm while I was in Las Vegas at this cute little korean store in Chinatown.

One of the sweaters.

This was the OOTD on Tuesday. I wore this with the leopard leggings I bought at XXI for $19.80. I purchased the Franco Sarto booties at Nordstrom Rack.

Another sweater except it's in grey. Macy was having a sale where you buy one sweater and the other one is free. Since one was $19.99 they were both around $10 each.

Two essential vee necks that I can pair with a cardigan or a leather jacket. These were $4 each. They're actually darker in person. The one on the left is a dark teal/forest green and the one on the left is a burgundy.

Nail Polish ☺

Okay this is going to be a short review over nail polishes that I tried and liked/didn't liked. Let's get started!

Top Favorite: Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Fast Dry Nail Color in Blue Away.
This is my top favorite because the color is a beautiful sky blue which was hot during the summer. It dries quickly, hence its name. The color barely chips and is very long lasting. My only complaint is the brush which is a fat oval shape instead of the normal brush shape. It's harder painting smaller nails with such a big brush.
Runner-Ups: Pure Ice in Envy and in All Nighter.
The colors are pretty berry and rose shades which is very trendy right now in the colder season. A fellow blogger and my favorite youtube personality, Beautifymeeh, raved about these nail polishes. So I was pleasantly surprised to find them at Walmart. Envy is a light rosy color and All nighter is a dark ruby color. You can look up pictures on her blog. She's awesome ^^. I really like these nail polishes because they're so affordable (it cost me $1.97 ea.) and the color range is wide. However, if you don't put a top coat on, it will chip off in the shower!
Least Favorite: Essie in Mochachino
This is my least favorite bottle because first of all it was very pricey for a nail polish. Second of all, I needed at least 3 coats for the color to show up nicely. And third, it also chips easily. The only reason why I haven't smashed this thing is because the color is sooo pretty! It's a taupe shade that I just love wearing all year long.

Wearing Pure Ice in Envy.

I included pictures of all the nail polish I mentioned and more nail polishes. The ones that I didn't talk about are just your basic ones that every girl should really have.

My Shopping Rules

Shopping is serious business to me. This is spending money that I've saved for a while and if I don't find a good deal I'm probably going to kick myself when I get home with a bag full of things that are really pointless. Yet, when you're at a mall, boutique, or outlet, you just can't help buying things right then and there because they just appeal to you with their newness. So, to avoid the compulsive shopping that I used to do, I've made rules to follow in order to avoid a disastrous trip.
  1. Make sure the item you're going to buy can be worn differently in 2-3 ways. And I mean worn differently while still staying stylish. For example, vee necks are my favorite type of clothing out of my entire closet (I have one for each day of the week). They're comfortable, casual, and versatile. If you wear it with shorts or leggings then it's an everyday outfit that you can wear to school or when you're running errands. If you add a structure jacket and jeans, then it looks more put together. It can be worn girly, edgy, or just plain. I usually buy my vee necks at Forever 21 because they are so inexpensive. Usually it's around 4.50.
  2. The price fits the type of clothing and the quality. I am a huge critic when I shop. I keep in mind the store that I'm at, the fabric, the cut, the type of clothing it is before I decide whether the price is reasonable for it. For instance, I would drop at pretty dollar on something at Zara or Nordstrom than I would at Image or XXI. Even though I love Forever, I would feel so uncomfortable spending $20 something on a shirt. If it was a dress, then yes I would purchase it. This is where type of clothing comes into mind. I give myself a limit to the things that I buy.
Top: $16 max Sweater: $25 max Jacket: $50-70 max Jeans: $45-$50 Dresses: $35 max Pants: $20 max Shorts: $15 max
Of course there were times when i cave in to the item, but I was able to wear it in at least 4-5 different outfits, so they became a good investment :D
  3. Is this going to go out of style? I admit that there were some pieces that did go out of style really quickly like those oversized floral shirts. Occasionally I do wear them, but I'm not a huge fan of them as I was back in spring. So, now I also keep in mind whether or not I'm going to wear this in the future. I can describe most of the pieces that I have in my closet as timeless
  4. How much is this going to set me back? Is this really a good deal? Can I find the exact same thing or at least a duplicate somewhere else? Of course money is an important factor since once you bought it and rip off the tag there's really no going back.
  5. My last rule is whether or not I love it. You really shouldn't buy anything that you don't love. If you're not a fan of vee necks like I am, then it's just going to be a waste of money if you're not going to wear it often. Instead, just save it for an item that you love and can see wearing over and over again.
I hope these rules will help you out. If this is something you already knew then congrats! You discovered it and probably saved a lot more money than I did. Haha good luck everyone :)

BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING + First Post ♥

Okay so this is the time of the year. BLACK FRIDAY. This is when people would camp out for a week at Best Buy to snag the latest tech for a cheaper price. But, if you're a clothing-person like me, this is when you set your alarm clocks to around 3-7 am in order to get yourself to the mall ASAP before all the good things are taken. So, this morning I left for one of the better malls with a HUGE XXI in order to take advantage of the clothing selection. It was around 8:30 am when I got there and I expected more people this year. I was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't a lot of people shopping this year as last year. Or maybe they did their shopping several hours back at 5 am when the mall opened. Although I had to leave earlier than when I usually do, I did manage to purchase a lot of great deals. I bought 2 oversized sweaters, a pair of Levi's jeans, and a mini backpack at Macy's. At XXI, I bought 2 vee necks for $8 and a pair of leopard stretch pants. I will post pictures of how I would wear the items I purchased either with each other or with other things that I bought previously. Look forward for what I got in store ^^.
Stay Savvy ♥
